Yen Retreats Slightly Against Majors

(RTTNews) - The Japanese yen retreated slightly from early highs against the other major currencies in the pre-European session on Tuesday.

The yen fell to 115.34 against the U.S. dollar and 166.17 against the pound, from a 15-month high of 114.21 and nearly a 3-week high of 164.79, respectively.

Against the euro and the Swiss franc, the yen dropped to 128.99 and 117.05 from nearly 2-week highs of 128.27 and 116.10, respectively.

Against the Australian, the New Zealand and the Canadian dollars, the yen slipped to 81.40, 76.31 and 82.70 from early near 3-week highs of 80.22, 75.12 and 81.90, respectively.

If the yen extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 118.00 against the greenback, 171.00 against the pound, 132.50 against the euro, 119.00 against the franc, 85.00 against the aussie, 79.00 against the kiwi and 85.00 against the loonie.
