Euro-zone manufacturing PMI surprisingly slid in December
The flash manufacturing PMI in the Euro-zone unexpectedly eased to a level of 51.40 in December, compared to a reading of 51.80 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to record a steady reading.
Euro-zone services PMI unexpectedly dropped in December
In the Euro-zone, the preliminary services PMI recorded an unexpected drop to a level of 51.40 in December, compared to a level of 53.40 in the previous month. Market anticipation was for the index to record a steady reading.
German manufacturing PMI eased in December
The preliminary manufacturing PMI in Germany registered a drop to a level of 51.50 in December, compared to a reading of 51.80 in the prior month. Market anticipation was for the index to fall to a level of 51.70.
German services PMI surprisingly declined in December
In Germany, the preliminary services PMI recorded an unexpected drop to a level of 52.50 in December, compared to market expectations of a rise to a reading of 53.50. The index had recorded a reading of 53.30 in the prior month.
US Markit manufacturing PMI declined in December
In the US, the flash Markit manufacturing PMI fell to a level of 53.90 in December, lower than market expectations of a fall to a reading of 55.00. The index had registered a level of 55.30 in the previous month.
