Linfox was this week contracted to transport copper concentrate for leading copper and gold producer Phu Bia Mining in S E Asia.

Linfox Chairman, Peter Fox said the work with Phu Bia Mining, the Lao-registered subsidiary of Australian copper and gold producer PanAust Ltd, represented a significant expansion of Linfox’s scale in the region.

“The work will generate over 220 new Linfox jobs and boost our fleet by 40 vehicles. We will also transport supplies for the mine on return journeys from export ports to ensure the most efficient use of our fleet.”

“Linfox operations will be based at Quang Binh in Vietnam and Sri Racha in Thailand, to deliver Phu Bia Mining’s copper concentrate to ports for shipping to smelters in Asia.”

The product will be sourced from Phu Bia Mining’s flagship Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation, located around 140 kilometres from the Lao capital city, Vientiane.

“The transport operation will be supported by significant investment in state-of-the-art fleet and a well-trained team of drivers, support staff and management,” Peter Fox said.

“Linfox’s focus on safety, training and our experience and expertise in serving mining operations were key factors in winning this work.”

“The new operation represents natural growth for Linfox, leveraging our expertise in mining support projects and our established operations and local knowledge in Vietnam and Thailand.”
