The Japanese yen strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.

The yen rose to 4-day highs of 183.89 against the pound and 125.05 against the Swiss franc, from yesterday's closing quotes of 184.54 and 125.26, respectively.

Moving away from an early near 3-week low of 120.25 against the U.S. dollar, the yen edged up to 119.58. At yesterday's close, the pair was trading at 120.11.

The yen edged up to 133.87 against the euro and 95.44 against the Canadian dollar, from yesterday's closing quotes of 134.33 and 95.81, respectively.

If the yen extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 180.12 against the pound, 113.40 against the Swiss franc, 117.02 against the greenback, 132.10 against the euro and 91.61 against the loonie.
