On 25 February, 2015, Implementation Suggestions on Encouraging Private Capital to Participate in the Development of the Senior Service Industry, which was jointly issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China, altogether ten ministries and commissions, was issued on the official website of Ministry of Civil Affairs. It points out that social force should gradually be the subject of the senior service industry, and the decisive role of the market in the distribution of resources should be given full attention. It mainly includes home and community senior service, nursing home senior service, and the development of the senior care industry. After 15 years of development, CHINA AID has witnessed the growth of China's welfare industry, and the government's great support of the senior service industry as well as the market's enthusiasm for the senior care industry creates unlimited opportunities for the further development of CHINA AID.

This year's show will occupy an area of 23,000 square meters and to ensure stable further growth, the show will be held at Shanghai New International Expo Center, which has the highest turnover rate in the world. Since its debut in 2000, CHINA AID has been instructed by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, China National Committee on Ageing, and China Disabled Person's Federation, and hosted by Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Committee on Ageing, and the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai. It is also jointly hosted by Shanghai Silver Industry Association, and organized by Intex Shanghai Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Silver Industry Development Center. It is currently the largest trade expo boasting the widest range of products and the longest history in our country.

CHINA AID is a highly international show platform for the welfare industry and will attract over 300 companies and organizations from 16 countries and regions, covering senior service, life care, rehabilitation medicine, assistive devices, health management and livable building. Among them, international exhibitors will account for 38 percent and more than a thousand products, technologies and services ranging from oral cleaning to age-friendly building will come together, meeting all needs from design to management. It is an annual trade expo to learn about the development of the industry and to find cooperation in product technologies and services.

Apart from gathering advanced technologies and products of the industry, CHINA AID is also an information sharing platform condensing industry wisdom, focusing on industry hotspots, and leading industry growth.

The 5th China International Forum on Ageing will be hosted by Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau and Shanghai Municipal Committee on Ageing, jointly hosted by Shanghai Silver Industry Association, and supported by China National Committee on Ageing, the Social Welfare and Charity Promotion Division of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and China Research Center on Ageing. Its aim is to address the challenges facing the industry and encourage innovation. This forum will be centered on the theme of 'Effectively Meeting the Supply and Demand of the Senior Service', focusing on the development of the senior care industry, long-term care, the fusion of medicine and care, home care, and other industry hotspots. We will invite government leaders, experts and scholars from the senior care industry and experienced agency representatives to deeply analyze policy trends, share successful experiences of senior care home and abroad, and discuss how to create senior care service standards. After the meeting, we will organize not only a visit to the exhibition, but also professional study tours to two Shanghai nursing homes which have distinguishing and innovative features.

The Smart Care Summit Forum 2015 will introduce cutting-edge technologies—big data, mobile and internet, wearable devices, and health management platforms, promoting technological innovation of senior service products through the combination of the information and senior care industries. During the forum, we will share Intel China Research Center's cases of the application of health internet in the senior care industry, Shanghai Jiao Tong University's scientific research innovation of remote home care, and design trends of senior care products by assessment experts from Germany's Red Dot Awards. We will also take a look at the ways leading manufacturers such as Haiyang and Tianyi Mingkang are using cloud technology as part of their key products for the senior care sector.

Focusing on the needs, doubts, and development of nursing homes, the 3rd China Forum on Nursing Homes will make the contents more detailed and pay more attention to practical operation. The second part of the forum will simultaneously meet the different needs of nursing homes to be built and those already in operation. One is mainly about space design planning of nursing homes, the effective use of age-friendly assistive devices and experience of foreign nursing homes, while the other is mainly about the cooperation of nursing home care and community care, the prevention of operational risks in nursing homes, and the key points of how to take care of the disabled, elderly and those who suffer from dementia.

The Sino-Japanese Silver Industry Exchange Meeting will be divided into a forum and business negotiation. In the forum, Chinese and Japanese experts and agency representatives from the silver industry will exchange ideas about how senior care is undertaken in Japan, a country with a rapidly ageing population, thus providing inspiration for the development of China's senior care industry. It will also introduce to Japanese companies the current situation within China's senior care industry so as to provide an interactive platform of further cooperation. The business negotiations will attract 16 Japanese welfare product companies and service agencies, helping both sides find suitable partners with whom to cooperate through face-to-face talks.

The 2nd Senior Care and Rehabilitation Technology Innovation Forum will be hosted by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning and Huadong Hospital who, based on their years of practical experience, will introduce rehabilitation medicine technologies and nursing tips for the elderly, and share rehabilitation methods more suitable to aged people's physical and mental characteristics.

With the idea of 'Science and Technology Creates Happiness for the Elderly', the 4th China Silver Welfare Products Design Competition will encourage companies and individuals to study the actual needs of old people and design products that can help and serve them. After the last three competitions, quite a few innovative products have been produced by companies and made available on the market.

The Public Consultation Activity of Shanghai Nursing Homes will release nursing home information in advance in the hope of attracting elderly people who want to live in nursing homes and their families to come and find out more. Meanwhile, the organizing committee will publish all the relevant information on its official website, weibo, wechat, cooperative media, and social organizations, helping nursing homes handle the vacant beds, and helping elderly people find suitable nursing homes.

CHINA AID has chosen Hall W4 and W5, next to Huamu Road Station on Metro Line 7, making it as convenient as possible a location for visitors. We will provide wheelchair service free of charge, making it possible for people who have difficulty moving to get anywhere they would like to go.

We sincerely hope you can join us at what promises to be a grand gathering this April in Shanghai.
