UniversalPegasus International (UPI), a subsidiary of Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII), was named Gulf Coast Engineering Company of the Year by the Oil and Gas Awards. UPI received the honor on March 19 at the third annual Oil and Gas Awards Gala Dinner in Houston.

The Oil and Gas Awards partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Energy Institute to support and promote the gala's awards that recognize leading companies in the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors.

"The Engineering Company of the Year Award recognizes engineering excellence and notable achievements in the region," said Marc Bridgen, chief marketing officer of the Oil and Gas Awards. "Celebrating the companies which have met the exacting specifications and technologically advanced demands of the energy sector, the judging panel rewards proven projects spanning oilfield infrastructure projects, gathering stations, pipeline work as well as any work carried out on processing stations, distribution facilities and streamlining projects."

UPI, one of more than 70 finalist companies considered for a Gulf Coast Oil and Gas Award, provides a number of services, including engineering and design, survey, inspection, operation and maintenance support, and geospatial services.

"We are honored to be named the 2015 Gulf Coast Engineering Company of the Year," said UPI President Philip Luna. "Our core values are safety, integrity, honesty, engagement, responsibility and performance, and collectively these values serve as the basis for all that we do. We provide our clients safe, innovative and quality work both nationally and internationally and are pleased to be recognized for the excellent work of our staff."
