New Additions Include Business Tablet &
Detachable 2-in-1 PC Featuring Microsoft’s New Windows 10 Operating
System
Toshiba’s Business Solutions Division (BSD), a division of
Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the
Encore 10 business tablet designed for a wide range of business
uses and the new Encore 10K, a versatile premium 2-in-1 detachable
notebook PC ideal for the education sector. Both feature a
10.1-inch Full HD IPS detachable display1, a sleek thin-and-light
design, and powered by Intel’s® Atom™ x5 quad-core processor, the
devices are available with Windows 10 and Windows 10 Professional
with price points starting at $299.
The Encore 10 provides enterprise grade performance to support a
line of business applications as well as a companion device. The
Encore 10K is a perfect detachable 2-in-1 notebook for students and
educators providing a keyboard dock and up to an 11-hour battery
life rating2 when docked, enabling new productivity
possibilities.

Designed for Portability and Flexibility
With a 10.1-inch display, the Encore 10 and Encore 10K provide
the perfect balance between mobility and performance. Built with an
extremely light, yet durable magnesium alloy, the tablet weighs
only 1.3 pounds3 and when combined with the keyboard dock, just 2.6
pounds. The keyboard dock features a simple hinge mechanism that
allows the tablet to be detached with one hand.
The Encore 10 and Encore 10K Full HD IPS display delivers
vibrant, clear detail with wide viewing angles. The touch screen of
the Encore 10K is ideal for business and education use, offering
10-point multi-touch support for Windows 10 and Windows 10
Professional.
Impressive Performance in Every Mode
Powered by Intel’s® Atom™ x5 quad-core processor, the Encore 10
and Encore 10K offer the ideal combination of battery life and
business-class performance. The Encore 10 delivers up to a 7-hour
battery life rating and the Encore 10K has up to an 11-hour battery
life rating due to the battery in the keyboard dock.
Both the Encore 10 and Encore 10K feature a 64 GB solid state
drive4, enabling business users to store files, presentations and
videos with a variety of storage options, and up to 4GB of on-board
LPDDR3 memory5 for easily multitasking. The device also includes
powerful wireless capabilities, including 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, plus
Bluetooth® 4.0.
Connectivity for All Scenarios
The Encore 10K provides extensive options to connect to all the
peripherals a business user might need in a “dongle free
environment.” In tablet mode, a Micro HDMI® port, Micro USB port
and microSD™ slot are included for connecting to additional
displays and fast data transfers. With the keyboard attached, users
can make the most of additional connectivity without additional
adapters, including full-size RGB, HDMI®, Gigabit Ethernet and two
USB 3.0 ports6. Both devices support Toshiba’s Connect and Charge
accessory, enabling users to connect a USB device (even a docking
station) while charging the tablet at the same time.
To make the process of connecting, syncing, sharing and
collaborating easier, Toshiba equipped both the Encore 10 and
Encore 10K two-in-one detachable with a Full HD webcam. Users can
also make the most of voice-activated Cortana digital assistant
with this tablet’s dual-array microphones.
Pricing and Availability
The Encore 10 has an MSRP of $299 for Windows 10 models or $399
for Windows 10 Professional, while the Encore 10K has an MSRP of
$479. Both will be available for purchase through Corporate Direct,
Reseller and DMR Partners, as well as ToshibaDirect.com in the
mid-September timeframe.
