In response to user demand, Glow creates a new, completely personalized product for young women

Glow, a data science company focused on reproductive health and education, announced today the launch of Ruby by Glow – a beautifully designed app that enables women to manage their sex life, their cycle and their health.

Ruby aims to help women live their best, healthiest life – starting with a happy and healthy sex life. With a strong education component, the app provides women with knowledge about their sexual health, leading to a better sense of self, better decision making, and fewer unplanned pregnancies, and empowers women to take control of their health and well-being.

Here’s how it works:

  • Women track their sex and health information in the app and Ruby’s data science enables women to recognize correlations and patterns across their cycles.
  • Information and resources presented in Ruby come from Glow’s esteemed medical advisory board and Bedsider.org – an online birth control support network operated by The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy – guaranteeing women have the latest information about their health, birth control and safe sex options.
  • A unique visualized health feed makes it easy to view current and upcoming cycles by swiping up or down, allowing for the detection of unexpected patterns.
  • The Ruby community offers a place inside the app to ask any type of question and gather feedback and opinions from other women going through similar experiences.

To celebrate the launch and empower women worldwide, Ruby is partnering with Huru International – a nonprofit that provides menstrual hygiene supplies and sex education to young women in the developing world. All too often, women in developing countries lack access to feminine products so they’re often forced to miss school and work during their period. These missed days add up and result in missed education, missed income and missed opportunity. Ruby is proud to announce that for each mention of Ruby on social using hashtag #TalkRubyToMe, we’ll give a young woman a day back – either at school or at work.

“From launch, Glow has been focused on giving women more insight and control over their reproductive health. Ruby continues that mission, aiming to empower and educate women on a global scale,” said Jennifer Tye, VP of Partnerships and Marketing at Glow. “We designed Ruby to be the essential health and sex app that is 100% focused on you. To offer young women a way to embrace their bodies and better understand their health really drives us.”

Ruby by Glow is integrated with Apple’s Health App and is available for free on iOS in the App Store worldwide starting today.
