Educators throughout Colorado, Indiana, and Texas can improve student outcomes with Scantron’s diagnostic assessments

Scantron Corporation, a leading, global provider of assessment and analytics solutions, today announced that the Colorado, Indiana, and Texas Departments of Education have approved additional Scantron solutions to meet targeted assessment needs within their states.

“Scantron assessment solutions are used throughout the U.S.,” said Scantron CEO Kevin Brueggeman. “Colorado, Indiana, and Texas now join other states—Alabama, California, Louisiana, New York, and Ohio, to mention a few—in confirming Scantron as an approved provider.”

Colorado has added Scantron’s Performance Series® to its list of approved assessment instruments with a focus on improving literacy throughout the state. Districts in Colorado can use Performance Series® to support the READ Act—a program designed to help students who have a significant reading deficiency.

Local education authorities in Indiana can now use their statewide Formative Assessment Grant for Performance Series® and Scantron Assessment Analytics, enabling educators to meet their goals of guiding classroom instruction at the individual level.

In Texas, Performance Series® can be used as part of the state’s group-administered achievement tests, many of which are designed to help students prepare for college and future careers. All Scantron Performance Series® tests are included, from Algebra and Geometry, to English Language Arts and Life Science.

“We are proud to be recognized by the Colorado, Indiana, and Texas Departments of Education as having a valid and reliable diagnostic assessment solution supporting pre-K through 12th grade learning,” said Sue Steinkamp, Vice President, Assessment Development and Psychometrics for Scantron. “Our assessments are proven to help educators and parents have a better understanding of a child’s performance in critical educational areas. The insights from our products maximize real-time instructional planning and give educators improved opportunities to better prepare students for summative assessments—and the real world.”

Performance Series® provides computer-adaptive diagnostic testing and growth monitoring for all grade levels. As a powerful complementary solution, Scantron Assessment Analytics, based on the industry-leading Qlik analytics engine, delivers easy, one-click analysis of assessment scores from any source, without the need for a data warehouse. Both of these products allow educators to quickly and efficiently analyze data while developing personalized learning methodologies that work for students.
