Net trade balance at SEK 0.5 billion in July

In July 2016 Swedish exports of goods amounted to SEK 85.1
billion, while imports of goods amounted to SEK 84.6 billion. As a
result, the net trade balance was SEK 0.5 billion.
Foreign trade in goods resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK
0.5 billion in July 2016 according to preliminary calculations. In
July 2015 there was a net trade surplus of SEK 0.4 billion.
The value of exports in July 2016 amounted to SEK 85.1 billion,
while imports were valued at SEK 84.6 billion. Compared to July
2015, both exports and imports decreased by 4 percent in value.
Trade with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK
9.5 billion, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of SEK 9.0
billion.
The number of weekdays in July was two less compared to July
2015.
Seasonally adjusted, the net trade deficit amounted to SEK 0.8
billion in July 2016, compared to a deficit of SEK 0.6 billion in
June 2016. The corresponding figure for May 2016 was a deficit of
SEK 0.4 billion.
Net trade (Jan--July 2016) showed a surplus of SEK 4.5
billion
During January--July, the value of exports decreased by 2
percent compared to the corresponding period last year, while the
value of imports remained unchanged. Exports amounted to SEK 670.5
billion and imports were valued at SEK 666.0 billion, resulting in
a surplus net trade balance of 4.5 billion for January--July 2016.
The surplus figure for the corresponding months last year was SEK
20.5 billion.
