European Economics Preview: U.K. Retail Sales Data Due

Retail sales data from the U.K. is due on Friday, headlining a
light day for the European economic news.
At 3.30 am ET, Statistics Sweden releases consumer prices for
January. Inflation is forecast to ease to 1.5 percent in January
from 1.7 percent in December.
At 4.00 am ET, the European Central Bank is set to issue euro
area current account figures for December. The current account
surplus totaled EUR 36.1 billion in November.
At 4.30 am ET, the Office for National Statistics is scheduled
to issue U.K. retail sales figures for January. Sales are forecast
to grow 1 percent month-on-month in January, reversing a 1.9
percent fall in December.
At 8.00 am ET, industrial production and producer prices from
Poland are due. Industrial output is expected to fall 3.3 percent
month-on-month in January following a 4.3 percent decline in
December.
Economists forecast Poland's producer prices to rise 3.7 percent
annually after climbing 3 percent in the prior month.
