Description: After the Ethereum hard fork, on July 20th, 2016, at block 1,920,000, the original Ethereum protocol was rebranded as Ethereum Classic, and its native token as ETC, preserving the original blockchain transaction history. Ethereum hard forked after it was discovered that a smart contract code was hacked (The DAO) and around 3.6 milion ETH were stolen. The hard fork issued a new version of the blockchain, without recognition of the theft, with the coins returned to its original hodlers.
