Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) sports-car brand Porsche AG has bought a 10% stake in Croatian company Rimac Automobili as part of its electrification drive.

Zagreb-based Rimac employs about 400 workers and produces electric-vehicle components and electric supercars, Porsche AG said Wednesday. Rimac's main focus is on high-voltage battery technology, electric powertrains and human-machine interface development.

Porsche didn't disclose the financial details of the deal.
