Volkswagen AG's (VOW.XE) truck and bus unit will be renamed Traton Group to become more independent from its parent company and get ready for a potential listing, the unit said Wednesday.

The MAN, Scania, Volkswagen Caminhoes e Onibus and RIO brands will retain their identities under the new umbrella brand, Volkswagen Truck & Bus said.

The official name change is expected to come into effect by the third quarter, it said.
