Barbara Koster, who led numerous advancements in the company’s technology talent, structure and processes over the course of her distinguished 23-year career with Prudential, announced her retirement as chief information officer in December 2018.

Goodman will serve as a member of Prudential’s Executive Leadership Team and report to Robert Falzon, Prudential vice chair. She joins Prudential from Freddie Mac, where she served as chief information officer leading all enterprise technology initiatives and serving on the Senior Operating Committee.

“Technology is a critical advantage, and Stacey is a purpose-driven leader and experienced technologist who has successfully guided complex, global companies through transformation to become leaders in their fields,” said Falzon. “Her ability to unlock business value, realize better outcomes for customers and streamline operations—while also accelerating growth—will support a differentiated capability for Prudential.”

Falzon added, “And, in her role on the Executive Leadership Team, I look forward to Stacey’s contribution in bringing technology to the center of our engagement with our employees, customers and distribution partners.”

Previously, Goodman was chief information and operations officer at CIT, where she helped build out the digital bank platform that grew deposits three-fold from 2012-2016, and modernized core platforms to support business growth, productivity, mobility and regulatory goals. CIT was recognized by CIO Magazine with a Top 100 award in 2016 for the technology transformation under Goodman’s leadership.

Goodman also held global positions at Bank of America, UBS and Solomon Brothers, and served on the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of Financial Research Advisory Committee.
