The German air force said Monday that two of its combat jets collided over Germany and crashed.

Both pilots ejected, the air force said via Twitter.

The crash involved two Eurofighter Typhoon combat planes, made by a consortium of Airbus SE, BAE Systems PLC and Leonardo SpA.

The air force said it is investigating the crash, which occurred near Laage in eastern Germany. Typhoons are stationed at an air base in the area.
