--Airbus SE (EADSY) and Boeing Co. (BA) formally complained to the Canadian government about current requirements for the contract, the report said.

--Canada's government is expected by next week to release the requirements for the 88 jets it intends to buy, the report said.

--Airbus declined to make a comment, and Boeing didn't respond to a request to comment, the report said.

--Canada's government said the competition isn't unfair, the report said.
