The U.K.'s Competition and Markets Authority Tuesday said it
ordered that Bottomline Technologies Inc. (EPAY) reverse its
acquisition of Experian Ltd.'s Payments Gateway business and its
related assets.
The unwinding order became effective on Aug. 2, the market
regulator said.
On July 16, the CMA appointed a special manager to operate the
Payments Gateway business separately from Bottomline while it
determined whether the deal could result in an anticompetitive
situation. The regulator is in the process of determining whether
this is the case.
