Level Home Inc. has raised $71 million of funding from backers
including Walmart Inc. (WMT) and Lennar Homes, and introduced a
lock that "transforms any standard deadbolt into a modern day smart
lock in just minutes."
The Level Lock will be available to the general public in
January.
Level Home, based in Redwood City, Calif., said the lock "is
designed to fit seamlessly inside your deadbolt, so you can
preserve the existing look of your home." The company said Apple
Inc.'s (AAPL) HomeKit can be used to operate the lock with Siri,
add automated tasks and get entry and exit notifications.
The financing also included Hut 8 Ventures.
Level Home is collaborating with Walmart on the InHome Delivery
service that launched Tuesday in three cities.
