The German air force said in a statement Wednesday that it won't take delivery of two Airbus SE (AIR.FR) A400M jets, citing recurring technical problems.

The Luftwaffe said that it found flaws in how the propellers of the aircraft were mounted, as well as other deficiencies, during routine checks of jets that are already in use. Remedying those flaws took significant time, it added.

The technical defects in combination with "the discovery that the two aircraft currently to be delivered do not possess the contractually warranted characteristics" led to the decision not to accept them, it said.
