According to San Francisco-based Crypto Fund Research, despite the clamour for institutional investment, almost 70 crypto hedge funds have closed in 2019 so far. The same Crypto Fund Research report cited in Bloomberg also says that the number of funds opening in 2019 is less than half the amount the year before.
