Naturgy Energy Group SA said Tuesday that it would set up a sustainability committee and three new business units to focus on the energy transition away from fossil fuels.

The Spanish energy company said the new committee, which comprises five members, will be responsible for monitoring the company throughout the transformation. Helena Herrero has been appointed as chairwoman of the committee.

The company has also formed three new units: the energy and grid management unit, led by Pedro Larrea; the renewable energy, innovation and new business unit, managed by Jorge Barredo; and the retail-marketing unit, run by Carlos Vecino.

Naturgy added that shareholders approved the company's results and corporate management report for 2019, including a total cash dividend of 1.37 euros ($1.49) a share, a 5% increase compared to 2018.
