Deutsche Post AG said Tuesday that it was commissioned by the
government of Lower Saxony, Germany for the storage and
transportation of Covid-19 vaccines.
DHL, a subsidiary of the German freight-and-logistics group,
"will store around 2.2 million vaccine doses and about 350 pallets
of vaccination equipment for the federal state of Lower Saxony at
two of its more than 140 certified Life Science Health Care
locations," the company said.
As part of this contract with a federal state to manage the
vaccines logistics, the supply chain division of DHL will have to
store the vaccines co-developed by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE at
extremely low temperatures, Deutsche Post said.
The company is also close to making similar agreements with
other German states, it said.
