Daimler AG will achieve double-digit sales growth in China this year and said it is optimistic about its performance in the region in 2021.

"The overall picture continues to be extremely positive in China," Hubertus Troska, member of the management board for the car maker's China business, said at a press conference on Friday.

By end-November, Daimler had already exceeded last year's sales of about 693,000 vehicles in China.

Mr. Troska said the domestic market in China was extremely strong and consumers had very high available liquidity.

"I expect this positive momentum to carry into next year," he said.
