LONDON--The unemployment rate in the U.K. rose in November to its highest level in four years as rising coronavirus infections and government measures to contain them hit economic activity.

The unemployment rate was 5% in the three months through November, compared with 4.5% in the three months through August. The unemployment rate was last at 5% in summer 2016.
