FedEx Corp. on Tuesday said Henry Maier, president and chief executive of its FedEx Ground business, plans to retire at the end of July.

The Memphis, Tenn., package-delivery giant said John Smith, currently president and CEO of FedEx Freight, will succeed Mr. Maier at the helm of its second-largest segment by revenue.

FedEx said Lance Moll, currently senior vice president of operations at FedEx Freight, will succeed Mr. Smith as president and CEO of the freight business.

Mr. Maier, who joined FedEx in 1986, has been president and CEO of FedEx Ground since June 2013.
