Koninklijke Philips NV said Tuesday that Supervisory Board Chairman Jeroen van der Veer will retire upon closing of the company's 2021 annual general meeting, and that Feike Sijbesma has been appointed as his successor.

Mr. Sijbesma has been a member and vice chairman of Philips's supervisory board since last year, the Dutch medical-technology company said. His appointment will be effective after the AGM on May 6.

Supervisory Board Vice Chairwoman Christine Poon will also retire upon closing of the company's 2021 AGM, and Paul Stoffels has been appointed as new vice chairman, Philips said.

The company said Mr. Van der Veer and Mrs. Poon will retire after their third consecutive terms on the supervisory board.
