Greatland Gold PLC said Thursday the latest drilling results for its Havieron gold-copper deposit in Australia were excellent.

The London-listed mining company said results for four new holes continue to support the potential for resource expansion of the Havieron system, as all of them intersected significant mineralization.

The largest intersection was at the Northern Breccia area of Havieron, with 156.6 meters of mineralization grading 1.1 grams of gold per metric ton and 0.22% copper.

"We are very pleased with another set of excellent results which continue to highlight the world-class potential of Havieron," Chief Executive Shaun Day said.

However shares at 0805 GMT were down 1.05 pence, or 4.5%, at 22.15 pence.

Havieron is operated by ASX-listed Newcrest Mining Ltd.
