TotalEnergies SE has teamed up with Uber Technologies Inc. to provide tens of thousands of electric-vehicle charging points to the ride-hailing company's French drivers.

The Paris-based company said Tuesday that Uber drivers will be able to use a card to access 20,000 charging points in France by the end of the year and more than 75,000 by 2025. Total and Uber will analyze drivers' habits and journeys to decide locations for charging points.

"Our commitment is to provide them with services that meet their expectations, with the guarantee of an adapted charging network," said Guillaume Larroque, managing director of TotalEnergies Marketing France.

Uber has some 30,000 registered drivers in France and aims for half of the vehicles on its French platform to be electric by 2025. By 2030, it targets 100% electric rides in the United States, Canada and Europe, and the rest of the world by 2040.
