Extract Resources Ltd. (EXT.AU) said Thursday it hasn't received
any takeover offers but has had approaches from parties interested
in participating in the development of its Rossing South uranium
project in Namibia.
The miner has previously said that it could attract a takeover
offer from a consortium comprising a miner and customer, but
Thursday issued a statement saying no bids have been made.
"Extract advises that no takeover offers have been received by
the company to date and does not wish to speculate on any actions
that may, or may not, be undertaken by third parties in future," it
said.
"Extract can confirm that a number of parties have contacted the
company to express potential interest in participating in the
development of the Rossing South uranium project in Namibia."
The Perth-based company said it is reviewing corporate and
businesses options for the development of Rossing South, but hadn't
made any decisions yet.
U.K.-based Kalahari Minerals PLC (KAH.LN) has a 40% stake in
Extract and Rio Tinto Ltd. (RTP) has built a 15.6% stake, sparking
speculation of a possible bid for the company.
