FTSE 100 Rises as Mining and Energy Stocks Rally
0832 GMT - The FTSE 100 rises 0.5% to 7490 points with mining
and energy shares among the top performers. Mining stocks Glencore,
Anglo American and Antofagasta rally as metal prices rise. Oil and
gas giants BP and Shell are lifted by higher crude prices. "Oil
prices have nudged higher, as OPEC+ member countries indicate that
ongoing production restrictions are set to continue," Hargreaves
Lansdown analyst Susannah Streeter writes. Investors are also
weighing up the supply side impact of a G7 plan to cap the price of
Russian oil, she says. United Utilities falls 1.6% after the water
company reported it swung to an underlying loss before tax in the
