The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.2% to 97.29.

In commodities, Brent crude rose 1.1% to $75.12 a barrel, and WTI crude rose 1.1% to $70.88 a barrel.

The German 10-year Bund yield climbed by 1.8 basis points to 2.267% from 2.249%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury rose by 1.3 basis points to 3.613% from 3.6% Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.

Stocks in Asia were up as Japan's Nikkei 225 index gained 1.2%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng climbed 4.2%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 0.8%.
