--Tesla Inc. is planning to keep production at its Shanghai plant at about 93% capacity through the end of 2022, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

--The hold comes despite a recent upgrade aimed at raising production and making up for lost output from an extended Covid-19 lockdown in April, the report said.

--Tesla didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.

--The company said in July that the plant could produce more than 750,000 cars a year after the upgrades.
