Voltaire Ltd. (NASDAQ: VOLT), a leading provider of scale-out data center fabrics, today announced that it will demonstrate the industry’s first end-to-end, virtualized, scale-out data center across a multi-vendor 10 Gigabit Ethernet fabric at Interop, April 27-29, 2010 in Las Vegas in booth 643.

In the demonstration, Voltaire’s recently introduced Unified Fabric Manager™ (UFM™) 3.0 software orchestrates physical and virtual switches delivering guaranteed levels of service per application. The demonstration will include 10 GbE networking products from Voltaire, BLADE Network Technologies, HP ProCurve, Intel and Emulex, and virtualization software from VMware. Voltaire UFM™ 3.0 software is the first and only Ethernet fabric management software that dynamically orchestrates end-to-end virtual machine connectivity for multi-vendor, scale-out data center networks.

“The dynamic and shared nature of today’s virtualized data center and cloud computing environments is creating new challenges in maintaining security and service levels,” said Asaf Somekh, vice president of marketing, Voltaire. “Resolving these challenges requires a new kind of fabric orchestration solution that translates service or application requirements to data center fabric policies in real-time. Voltaire’s UFM software for Ethernet essentially functions as the data center fabric operating system and automatically configures fabric resources as services are added or mobilized across the data center.”

The demonstration includes the Voltaire Vantage™ 8500, a low latency 10 GbE Layer 2 core switch, which provides CEE capabilities such as lossless traffic, as well as the BLADE RackSwitch G8124, HP ProCurve 6600-24XG switch, Intel® Ethernet Server Adapter X520-DA2, Emulex OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs), and VMware ESX 4.0. The converged fabric also tunnels storage traffic over 10GbE with virtualized connectivity to Fibre Channel storage.

“BLADE Network Technologies’ RackSwitch is the ideal top-of-rack switch for an end-to-end 10 Gigabit Ethernet network,” said Tim Shaughnessy, vice president of Marketing, BLADE Network Technologies. “Customers can now manage BLADE’s RackSwitch using Voltaire’s Unified Fabric Manager in an open, multi-vendor network environment that provides advantages including improved visibility, better end-to-end performance, exceptional scalability, converged storage and data traffic, virtual resource mobility and higher utilization. Voltaire’s Interop demo provides a state-of-the-art representation of BLADE Network Technologies’ vision of the unified fabric of the future.”

“Emulex is committed to building partnerships across the ecosystem that help customers make the transition to high-performance, high-density 10Gb/s Ethernet networks,” said Steve Daheb, chief marketing officer and senior vice president of business development, Emulex. “Collaborating with partners such as Voltaire ensures customers have the solutions they need to not only make the transition, but make the transition a seamless one, enabling them to realize the benefits of network consolidation and convergence.”
