VMware said Thursday board member Karen Dykstra will also serve as chief financial officer and executive vice president following Zane Rowe's departure.

The software maker said Rowe, who is leaving to join human resources cloud-software company Workday on June 12, will leave the company effective June 9.

Dykstra has been a member of VMware's board since March 2016.
