Regulatory News:

Once again, Arkema (Paris:AKE) is ranked in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices among the top companies of the chemicals sector in terms of social responsibility. Ranked third in the DJSI World for 2022, the Group also maintained its second place in the DJSI Europe and further improved its score.

For the third consecutive year, Arkema is ranked among the top-performing companies in the Chemicals category, with a score that continued to improve, reaching 83 out of 100 in Standard & Poor's Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).

These globally recognized rankings reflect Arkema's commitment and performance in environmental and social dimensions, as well as in economic and governance matters.

This year, Arkema achieved very good results, more particularly in the analysis and identification of material challenges, product and water risk management, social and environmental reporting, and occupational health and safety management.

"Our ambition in terms of corporate social responsibility is at the heart of our strategy and culture. The Group’s development is focused on innovative technologies and applications, positioned towards sustainability. Arkema's teams are strongly committed to meeting the challenge of decarbonation and supporting our customers in their quest for sustainable performance. This new, very positive ranking rewards their efforts and the steady progress they have achieved" said Thierry Le Hénaff, Chairman and CEO of Arkema.

Arkema has set itself an ambitious target, based on an SBT (Science Based Target) approach, to reduce its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and its scope 3 emissions by 46% by 2030 relative to 2019. Last July the Group thus raised its level of commitment from well below 2°C to 1.5°C, now also including scope 3 emissions, and is acting on a daily basis to limit its carbon footprint.

Finally, Arkema places inclusion and diversity at the heart of its success, capitalizing on the differences of profiles and experience to carry out the Group’s transformation, and all those elements were recognized in this 2022 ranking.

Building on its unique set of expertise in materials science, Arkema offers a portfolio of first-class technologies to address ever-growing demand for new and sustainable materials. With the ambition to become in 2024 a pure player in Specialty Materials, the Group is structured into 3 complementary, resilient and highly innovative segments dedicated to Specialty Materials - Adhesive Solutions, Advanced Materials, and Coating Solutions - accounting for some 85.5% of Group sales in 2021, and a well-positioned and competitive Intermediates segment. Arkema offers cutting-edge technological solutions to meet the challenges of, among other things, new energies, access to water, recycling, urbanization and mobility, and fosters a permanent dialogue with all its stakeholders. The Group reported sales of around €9.5 billion in 2021, and operates in some 55 countries with 20,200 employees worldwide.
