ADRs End Lower, Vodafone and Glencore Trade Actively

International stocks trading in New York closed lower on
Monday.
The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts
fell 0.9% to 143.23. The European index dropped 0.7% to 138.60, the
Asian index fell 1% to 165.86, the Latin American index declined 3%
to 183.86 and the emerging markets index was 1% lower at
281.71.
Vodafone Group PLC and Glencore PLC were among the companies
with ADRs that traded actively.
ADRs of Vodafone fell 1.7% after the U.K.-based
telecommunications company said Nick Read has agreed to step down
as chief executive. Chief Financial Officer Margherita Della Valle
has been appointed as interim chief executive.
ADRs of Glencore fell 1.4% after it said it has reached an
agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo over alleged acts
of corruption between 2007 and 2018 and will pay $180 million. The
FTSE 100-listed commodity mining and trading company said the
agreement covers all present and future claims.
ADRs of Novartis AG rose 1.1% after the Swiss drug company said
a trial to evaluate prostate-cancer drug Pluvicto met its primary
endpoint in patients with a specific type of metastatic cancer.
