Iberdrola SA said Monday that it had awarded Vestas Wind Systems AS a wind-turbine supply contract in Poland.

The Spanish energy company said it had signed an agreement with Vestas for the installation of 14 wind turbines at a 50.4-megawatt Korytnica II wind-farm project northeast of Warsaw.

Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022, with the project serviced by the Danish wind-turbine maker under a long-term agreement, Iberdrola said.

Korytnica II is scheduled for commissioning at the start of 2023, bringing Iberdrola's onshore wind capacity in Poland to 163 megawatts, the Bilbao-based company said.

Iberdrola said Poland is one of the company's new growth markets and is developing an offshore wind pipeline in the country that includes seven offshore projects.
