Iberdrola SA said Wednesday that it will issue a interim dividend of at least 16.8 European cents (19 U.S. cents) a share for 2021 and raise more than 1.10 billion euros ($1.24 billion) in a capital increase.

The Spanish energy company's interim dividend will at least match that of the last two years.

The total dividend for 2020, including the final payment, was 42 cents.

The Bilbao-based company also said it would implement a capital increase of up to EUR1.10 billion, and will issue 106.1 million shares.

The maximum nominal amount of the the capital increase is EUR79.58 million, Iberdrola said.

Shares in Madrid were down 0.7% to EUR10.32 after the news.
