RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif.,
April 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/
-- Powerstorm ESS (OTC: PSTO) ("Powerstorm" or the "Company")
welcomes Richard Lane to its Board
of Advisors, effective April 2015.
Lane is a seasoned mobile technology professional, investor, and
entrepreneur with over 30 years of extensive experience building
businesses and maximizing shareholder value within those
businesses.
Rich brings to Powerstorm's board his significant experience
with startup management, entrepreneurial bootstrapping, and
consulting. The fact that the majority of his experience and
expertise concerns mobile technologies ensures his compatibility
with Powerstorm.
Currently, Rich is the President of Entrepreneurial Ventures and
is also a General Partner of Radio Spectrum Partners. In addition
to Powerstorm ESS, Rich is a member on the Board of Advisors for
KaBloom Flowers, Progeny Solar, Inc., ViziApps Inc., and Red Pagoda
Resources.
Previously, Rich was CEO of PacTel Mobile Services and
PureSpeech, COO of Voice Control Systems, GreatCall, and Reflection
Technology, President of Blue Danube Systems and General Manager of
Panasonic's wireless telecommunications business unit. Prior to
these positions, he honed his sales, marketing, and distribution
skills while serving as senior team member for the launch of
several cellular service providers.
His professional career has been punctuated with
accomplishments. Notably, he built GreatCall from the ground up
after being hired by the company's founders, including launching
their initial products, raising money, and hiring officers. At
SwiftTouch Corporation, he was an integral part of their formation,
including fundraising and recruiting management. He was responsible
for turning around PureSpeech, Inc., securing bank financing, and
having the insight to refocus their direction thereby avoiding a
major down round while the business was preparing for sale.
Rich holds an M.B.A. and a B.S. from the Wharton School,
University of Pennsylvania.
Powerstorm is looking forward to working with Rich and to having
his agile, focused, and entrepreneurial mind offering guidance
concerning the company's future business decisions.
"We are happy to have Rich as part of the team to grow our
company," said Mike Freni,
Powerstorm CEO. "He has the wisdom that comes with many years of
business experience, and I'm confident that he will use that to
help Powerstorm most effectively provide power to those people in
the world currently living in energy poverty."
Rich is also looking forward to beginning his work with the
company. "From a business perspective, this is an exciting time to
get involved with Powerstorm," he said. "I have considerable
experience consulting startups, as well as a foundation in
telecommunications, so it is evident that we will be a good fit.
The work that this company is doing, utilizing their innovative
energy storage technologies to enable wireless communications for
people who have been previously power-deprived, is full of
potential and possibility."
