NEW YORK, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Evercore Partners Inc. (NYSE: EVR) today announced that Stephen CuUnjieng has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor. Mr. CuUnjieng joins Evercore from Macquarie Group, where he was most recently a Vice Chairman, ASEAN. Mr. CuUnjieng, who will continue to be based in Asia, will remain focused on advising leading companies in the ASEAN region. His appointment complements Evercore's joint venture with CITIC Securities International Partners ("CSIP"), which is focused on China, and Evercore's strategic alliance with Mizuho in Japan. Mr. CuUnjieng is an advisor to a number of Asia's most prominent companies. He has served as the exclusive financial advisor to Lopez Group (including First Philippine Holdings Corporation) in the restructuring of its ownership of Manila Electric Company, as well as on the sale of their 67% interest in MNTC, the largest toll road company in the Philippines; served as advisor to Lopez on PLDT Group's purchase of an additional interest in Manila Electric; served as the exclusive advisor and sole lead manager of the initial public offering of SM Investments; and served as the sole manager for the convertible bond offering for Bangkok Dusit Hospitals in Thailand, among many other notable situations.
