GALLIFORD TRY APPOINTED TO GBP7BN GOVERNMENT EDUCATION FRAMEWORK AND GBP55M GALASHIELS CAMPUS PROJECT

Galliford Try, one of the UK's leading construction groups, announces that it has been appointed to the GBP7bn Department for Education 2021 Construction Framework, and separately a new GBP55m contract to build the Galashiels Community Campus on behalf of Scottish Borders Council and Hub South East.

Galliford Try has been appointed to eight lots of the new four-year framework, covering all regions of England. The framework is the main procurement vehicle for new school buildings within England including through the School Rebuilding Programme and Free Schools programmes. The previous four-year framework was worth approximately GBP258m to the business during its duration.

The Galashiels project will replace the outdated Galashiels Academy building within Scott Park in the town, utilising the existing site to create a facility that will accommodate over 1,000 pupils. The project will feature extensive landscaping that will enable more of the park to return to public access.

Bill Hocking, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, said: "Education is very much a key sector for our business and a major part of how we intend to deliver our Sustainable Growth Strategy. We look forward to partnering with the Department for Education once again, helping them to deliver net zero carbon schools as part of the 2021 framework and achieve their sustainable education estate.

"Additionally, our Morrison Construction business has an exceptional record in creating education campuses throughout Scotland and we are delighted to have been chosen by Scottish Borders Council and Hub South East for the exciting Galashiels project."
