REUTERS IN MAJOR GLOBAL INFORMATION DESKTOP AGREEMENT WITH GOLDMAN SACHS
New York - July 22, 2003 - Reuters (Nasdaq: RTRSY, LSE: RTR), the global
information company, has agreed on terms for an enterprise-wide contract with
Goldman Sachs that will simplify the way Reuters provides information products
to the global financial services firm.
The agreement, which renews and revises an existing contract, calls for
streamlining products into a simplified, segmented three-tier offering across
the firm. The offering was developed after a firm-wide analysis of content and
workflow requirements at Goldman Sachs' global offices. The services will
include the company's flagship products, Reuters 3000 Xtra and Reuters
Bridgestation Plus, among others.
The enterprise-wide contract complements the agreement reached earlier this year
for Reuters to provide Reuters Market Data System (RMDS) as a replacement for
Reuters' Triarch and TIB products in the Goldman Sachs market data
infrastructure.
Devin Wenig, Reuters President, Customer Segments, said: "We are making real
changes at Reuters -- in the product line and in our approach to the market and
our customers. Goldman Sachs understands the significance of these changes,
which aim to bring the right product to each user throughout their firm."
