Swedish vegetable oils and fats firm AarhusKarlshamn AB (AAK.SK)
said Friday it has bought Turkish oil and fat supplier Unipro from
Unilever N.V. (UN) for an undisclosed sum in order to boost its
presence in growth markets.
MAIN FACTS:
-Founded in 1990 and located in Istanbul, Unipro employs
approximately 37 people and had revenues of approximately SEK700
million in 2012.
-In connection with the acquisition, AAK has entered a five
years toll manufacturing agreement with Unilever relating to the
supply of Unipro products.
-"This is AAK's next step in its strategy of increasing focus on
growth markets," Torben Friis Lange, Senior Vice President AAK,
said.
-The impact on AAK's 2013 operating profit is expected to be
limited.
-At 0710 GMT, shares in AarhusKarlshamn were up 0.8% at SEK374
against a 0.3% rise in the wider Stockholm market.
