The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is to hear testimoney from two Bank of America Corp. (BAC) directors next week as lawmakers continue their inquiry into the events that led to the bank's takeover of Merrill Lynch last year.

An aide to the panel said Friday that Charles Gifford and Thomas May are to testify at a hearing Oct. 22. Also slated to appear at the hearing are FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair and Neil Barofsky, the inspector general of the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
