Gold's market fundamentals are bullish, based on falling output at Western mines and ongoing uncertainty in global financial markets, Newmont Mining Corp.'s (NEM) regional group executive for Asia Pacific said Wednesday.

Miners are increasingly moving into less safe jurisdictions, leaving global output to plateau.

Investment in gold exchange traded products has been key to pushing gold prices up, Philip Stephenson said at the Diggers and Dealers forum.
