Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana SA (IBLA.MC), Spain's largest airline, said Tuesday its passenger load factor was 77.8% in November, up from 77.1% a year earlier.

Load factor, a measure of occupancy used in the airline industry, is the percentage of all seats offered which are occupied on flights. MAIN FACTS:

- Iberia said load factor rose as it adjusted frequencies and routes to a falling demand for air travel.

- The company added that during the winter holiday period it would increase the number of flights between Madrid and Bogota, Montevideo and New York and will fly larger planes to Caracas.

- Passenger load factor in long-haul flights was 82.4% in November, down from 83.2% a year ago, while medium-range flights to Europe rose to 72.3% from 66.4% a year ago.
