Iberia Lineas Aereas de Espana SA (IBLA.MC), Spain's largest airline, said Tuesday its passenger load factor was 81.6% in May, up from 78.1% a year earlier.

Load factor, a measure of occupancy used in the airline industry, is the percentage of all seats offered which are occupied on flights.

MAIN FACTS:

- Iberia said load factor in the month rose due to a boost in long haul traffic to Latin America.

- Domestic traffic was weaker, with the number of passengers down 8.3%.
