The Japanese yen weakened against the other major currencies in the late Asian session on Friday.

The yen fell to 128.37 against the Swiss franc for the first time since February 12, from an early high of 127.91.

Pulling away from early highs of 133.89 against the euro, 183.19 against the pound and 119.36 against the U.S. dollar, the yen slipped to 134.33, 183.84 and 119.76, respectively.

Against the Australia, the New Zealand and the Canadian dollars, the yen dropped to 94.60, 90.94 and 99.09 from early highs of 94.23, 90.57 and 98.81, respectively.

If the yen extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 137.00 against the franc, 185.85 against the euro, 121.50 against the greenback, 97.50 against the aussie, 93.50 against the kiwi and 99.50 against the loonie.
