OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:OSIS), a vertically-integrated
provider of specialized electronic products for critical
applications announced that its Security division, Rapiscan
Systems, has received approximately $29 million in orders from the
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) to provide multiple
units of its advanced cargo and vehicle inspection solutions for
customs inspections and security screening and various air and sea
ports of entry.
The products to be provided under the contract reflect the broad
range of Rapiscan’s cargo and checkpoint inspection product line
including the Rapiscan Eagle Mobile and the Rapiscan GaRDS Portal.
The fixed and mobile configurations utilizing both X-ray and
gamma-ray technology provide the U.S. government with a
comprehensive inspection solution for the detection of a wide
variety of threats and contraband.
